It was later learned that most of the strikers wanted to come back. It was also learned that the strike was considered illegal.

Summary: This year Stevie Wonder signed a contract with Motown Records worth 13 million dollars. In the same year he released the hit album The Key Of LIfe.

How does this relate to african american history: This is related to african american history because Stevie Wonder is black and his music was very popular.


What Happened In 1966

Date: October 15, 1966

Summary: Huey P Newton created the Black Panther Party for Self-Defence. He created the group after Malcolm x died. It was formed in Oakland, California.

How does this relate to african american history: This is related to african american history because the Black Panthers fought for black power in the United States.

Why does she like it: She liked it because she thinks it is cool how there are so many different parts to the song and she remembers playing "air guitar" along with the guitar solo. Her dad would play this song on the highest volume all through out their house.
